Everyday Coffee, Melbourne

In a time of snap lockdowns, stay at home orders and takeaway only options, ‘Let’s go get coffee’ has become my mantra.

Whether I am meeting a friend for a walk, caffeinating to get through working from home or just looking for a reason to get out of the house, my local cafes have been a life-saver during the last year and a bit in Melbourne.

As I write this, we are in our fourth lockdown in Melbourne, and I think this one has hit that little harder. After months of relative normalcy, with everyone getting back to work, spending evenings in bars and going on road trips on the weekend, it’s tough to suddenly find ourselves in the same position we were this time last year. Our freedoms are constantly being given and taken away, therefore the abnormal has become normal these days.

In this unsettling time, my local cafes have been my constant.

Anyone who reads this blog, will know that I am an avid coffee lover and living in Carlton, I am so lucky with the number of cafes that I have close by. Some of the cafes I have stopped by in the last couple of weeks include: Parco, Assembly Coffee, Falco Bakery, Code Black, Small Batch Coffee, Sullivan, Plain Sailing and Ona Coffee. I also stopped by Everyday Coffee in Collingwood today and thought that I would include it as my newest Melbourne Cafe profile on this blog.

Everyday Coffee, Collingwood

Tucked around the back of Collingwoods bustling Smith Street, Everyday Coffee’s roastery and cafe is just so Northside. The cafe is a large, open warehouse-style space with a sunny outside area, a spacious inside seating area and plenty of shelves stocked up of their house-roasted coffee and branded Merch.

Since opening in 2013, Everyday has made a name for itself for serving some of the best coffees in the city. Their coffee blends are ever-changing (their seasonal filter blends are a must bring back home), and their kitchen serves up a range of simple yet substantial eats.

Their All Day Espresso blend is the base of their in house coffees, black and white, and this also changes seasonally so you never get bored. Their current blend is a deliciously balanced roast with butterscotch and dark chocolate notes and uses a blend of beans from Colombia, Peru and Ethiopia.

For all of you home brewers out there, Everyday Coffee offers a home coffee subscrtiption service so you can order their espresso and filter blends directly to your door on a regular basis.
